Tonight’s Net is on the 70cm repeater GB3ER, as it seems the problems with the 2m GB3DA still haven’t been resolved

| Time to take a break: Attendance numbers show that the Monday Night Net is not getting the attendance that it did on the GB3DA repeater. It’s disappointing that so many of our regulars can’t access GB3ER and so can’t join us. So, it seems to make sense to take a break until a suitable home can be found, or the Essex Repeater Group can gain access to the GB3DA repeater and address the problem. Thoughts? Add them here |

when will GB3DA ever get fixed its been playing up since feb this year it does not take 4months to gain entry to the building,will some one please say what is going to be done if anything,if they dont want to fix it then shut it down for good as it is unusable most of the time, its sad as this is a popular repeater my grandfather used it when i was a child sad to see it be left in this sorry state. jon
Very frustrating that there’s no update on GB3DA. Attendance for the Monday Night Net is now so low, that we’re thinking of pulling the plug on the Net due to lack of response – pretty clear that people just can’t (or don’t want to) join us on GB3ER
thanks for your reply pete would be sad to see the net go but i think most newbies start on 2m like myself you have had some good nets on GB3DA i dont have 70cms only 2m.jon

Agree, sad to see the Monday Night Net go. We’re billing it as we are “taking a break” until we can find a suitable home.

DA won’t ever be fixed its been broken for months now and they can’t access the building it resides in!
I have also noticed that ER’s output and audio quality are on the decline.
A poor state of affairs.
I think the blame lies mostly with companies like Arqiva who sell mast/rack space to broadcasters and telecommunications companies. The “Chelmsford Radio” 107.7FM transmitter is also on the mast (taking prime position at the very top!), just behind the Church. Red-tape, health-and-safety etc have only increased – Some groups have lost their site altogether.
Just seeing the kind of prices paid for capacity would make even the hardened bank manager quiver! The more-common solution is to make use of a “domestic” site like with GB3DB (6m) and GB7ZP (70cm digital).
