We wrapped up at 22:40, after which some of the participants carried on discussing the subject of emails. It seems that one of the newcomers to be hobby has received the initiation email – from one of the many listeners to DA who’s keen to pass comment on something that’s been said on-air. If as much energy was spent on promoting the hobby and supporting newcomers, as sniping and grudge-holding, the future would look very bright for amateur radio.
Topics for the evening, as follows:
- London Hackspace
- Men in sheds / MenShed
- The Heavenly Bodies commemoration held by SEARS
- What happens to all of the M6s after training – a good percentage vanish
- Bacon
- The Monday Night Net Disclaimer rap
- Emails sent following comments made on-air. Ignore or put under the spotlight?
