Stow Maries Airfield 11 Sept 2011

If you have some free time on Sunday the 11th September 2011, come along to the Stow Maries Aerodrome and see  some vintage flying.

From this World War I Airfield, close to Maldon,  you’ll see planes including a Fokker Triplane, an early reconnaissance BE2 from Sywell, a Fokker Eindekker and a number of vintage and interesting civilian aircraft. There are also displays of model aircraft as well as some vintage cars and military vehicles.

What does this have to do with amateur radio?  Well, members of the Dengie Hundred Amateur Radio Society will be onsite transmitting from the Vintage Fly day under the special event callsign GB0SMA

If you’re free on Sunday the 11th, come along for some top aircraft flying, some fun with amateur radio, and a good family day out at a piece of World War I history.Opening hours 9am to 6pm. Admission £10 for adults, £5 for children
