The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) was active at two locations in Chelmsford to commemorate Britain’s entry into the first World War one hundred years ago this week.
Sandford Mill
The main activity was at the historic Sandford Mill museum where a team operated a 40m station for most of the day. Thanks to Chris G0IPU for supplying Essex Ham with the following photos of the activity at Sandford Mill.
The CARS website reports that around 250 QSOs were made using the callsign GB100MWT.

Oaklands Museum
A small team from CARS was also present at nearby Oaklands Museum. No stations were active, but it was a good opportunity to promote the hobby and spread the word about amateur radio.
