Dead forum and the lingering death of amateur radios. (3 replies)
i have a full license and never use more than 50w and work the world on HF
satellites you generally use 5w or less
and the lower the power the less likely you are yo annoy your neighbours with RFI
you can get much further with 50w into a good antenna than 400w into a poor antenna, so i would say save the money of the high power rig / amp and get / make a better antenna

Conditions are great at the moment and we're heading towards the peak of cycle 25. Perhaps we're too busy playing radio to post on a forum.
eye keep an eye on the forum and answer most posts i see, i do the same over on hamhub as well

Nobody posts anything here any longer. Why?
New Foundations whine about not having access to 400W. Have they the slightest idea what the necessary RF amp and AMU actually cost? Then think about the EMF implications...
It is all about wanting something for nothing: free and gratuitous in this day and age seems to be the expectation.
Can't do the maths for the higher level exams? Bloody well learn it. I did. It's not rocket science.
