Topics for the evening, as follows:

In tonight’s net, here’s what was discussed:

  • CARS Constructors Competition – Well done to Andrew 2E0ONH for getting first place for his FT8 Raspberry Pi project
  • TAARC had a successful weekend running GB1EWT in Mucking.
  • SSL website security (following Charlie M0PZT’s interview with Pete M0PSX on Phoenix FM today – Link to feature: Phoenix FM – Secure Browsing)
  • Well done to Dorothy and Richard – 11 years together tomorrow, and they’ll be celebrating by going to the SEARS club night tomorrow – how romantic!
  • The Perseids meteor shower, and the launch of the Parker Solar Probe
  • Choosing the right radio. Shack-in-a-box is a compromise, but handy for portable
  • Cats – Catnip, laser pointers and cucumbers
  • Do clubs need a website – some are quote low traffic, bu they do help get a club discovered

The net wrapped just after 10:25pm local time.

A quieter-than-usual net tonight, but a good one. Lots of folk in the chatroom too, including Paul from GB1NHS, who made me blush!

Thanks to everyone who took part on this week’s busy net on and off air.

A quick reminder that participants shouldn’t be making on-air references to any QRM, not addressing anyone who doesn’t hold an amateur radio licence. Feel free to log it using the Essex Ham QRM log though. Also, in the interests of being fair to all participants, please try to keep overs to under 2 minutes, and just one over per round (it’s the thing people complain about most often!)
