6 Meter Transceiver I would like to get into 6 Meters but there are a number of factors holding me back which is the lack of radio's out there that do 6 meters. Typically you got to spend large amounts of cash to get onto 6 meters with the following options of buying an old junky 50 MHz transceiver that may have faults or getting something more modern that only supports FM or buying an HF set that has 6 meters. All expensive ways. The only cheaper way would be to build one although not easy but could be quite interesting. Its not just SSB I am interested in but also FM as well. I have a 6 meter repeater near me I should be able to get into. Wouldn't it be fantastic if China could produce a cheap 50MHz transceiver like they do with 2/70 transceivers. Just a thought.

Another attempt to get simplex activity on V/UHF This Sunday I would like to work simplex on 70CM, I'll be calling out CQ on 433.500 MHz FM then moving to 433.400 MHz FM. Anybody is welcome to join in. I will start after 11am and calling out through the day from a hill top. We are very privileged to have all these bands and it seems a shame not to make use them.

Baofeng UV-5R8W Hi, I am new to the scene and tried as hard as I could tonight to listen in, no matter what I seemed to programme (even with CHIRP) I could not hear anything from the Danbury repeater. What am I doing wrong? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I have tried looking on the Yaesu.com website, but there is no mention of it anymore (unless I missed it). I would like to try in on my pc as mu eyesight is not what it was, and I am finding it harder to operate the rig.

VHF yagi balun Hello all. I have a VHF yagi that was gifted to me. The box containing the balun was knackered and the guts had corroded so I have replaced the box but I am struggling to find a concrete answer on the best balun. Most seem to suggest a 1:1 but there are contradicting answers. Can anyone help?

Baofeng GT3TP Hello wonderful people. A few years ago I bought two baofengs and (I can’t remember how) but managed to programme in the repeater that’s local to me in Southport. I’d often scam freq as well. Long story short. I had a stroke 2 years ago and only just found the radios. I’ve charged and reset them. Knocking off all the repeaters. The channels I listened to. Does anyone or could anyone please help me. Possibly my stroke but I find it hard to communicate and quite isolated. Can someone help me with advice- specifics so I can re enter the freq and tones and offsets etc to access the repeater. And if anyone has any specific freq I can listen to, I’d be grateful. Sorry for long message. Im not well and feel very imbecilic as a result. i have an MSc so im not silly. But this is really frustrating

Suggestion request on Leixen vv-898sp with battery set incorporated Hi All, does someone have experience with a Leixen vv-898sp + battery set incorporated? See screenshot and link below. It looks an excellent compromise within mobility, fixed base, and compactness. What do you think? Will it perform OK? Thank you!
