New M8 & M9 callsigns
Hi! Does anyone know when we will be able to change our 2E0 callsigns to the new M9 ones? I regularly check my Ofcom page but never see an option to make the change.

Hoping someone can help me identify this antenna and how to how use it
I bought this antenna about 5 years ago on eBay. To me it works great but it didn't
come with any instructions and I don't really know how it works (soon I will as I'm
studying for my icenses). I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how
it works and how to use it effectively.
I was going to try and reverse engineer it to see if I can figure out how it's
constructed, but haven't done that yet.

Ham Radio Deluxe – (free) problem
Hello

New to cat control of TX I installed HRD on an old W7 32 bit machine.

Seemed to install ok. I thought i'd use it on a better machine with w10 and 64 bit. The App just won't open . I suspect HRD was only written for 32 bit machines - am i right? I can always use the window s 7 machine if need be.

73

jack g6ftv

TYT TH-9800
Afternoon all. I have been given two TYT TH-9800 radios. Both are damaged in different ways so the plan is to make one good radio from them. The easiest way for me to do this will be to replace the final in one - the other has an undamaged one. But the radio with the good final is interesting - the previous owner managed to plug the fist mic into the main unit where the facia should plug in, and now it won't turn on. So herein lies my question - what damage would that have done to the radio? A search online hasn't given me much information so far.

6 Meter Transceiver
I would like to get into 6 Meters but there are a number of factors holding me back which is the lack of radio's out there that do 6 meters.

Typically you got to spend large amounts of cash to get onto 6 meters with the following options of buying an old junky 50 MHz transceiver that may have faults or getting something more modern that only supports FM or buying an HF set that has 6 meters. All expensive ways. The only cheaper way would be to build one although not easy but could be quite interesting.

Its not just SSB I am interested in but also FM as well. I have a 6 meter repeater near me I should be able to get into.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if China could produce a cheap 50MHz transceiver like they do with 2/70 transceivers. Just a thought.

Another attempt to get simplex activity on V/UHF
This Sunday I would like to work simplex on 70CM, I'll be calling out CQ on 433.500 MHz FM then moving to 433.400 MHz FM. Anybody is welcome to join in. I will start after 11am and calling out through the day from a hill top.

We are very privileged to have all these bands and it seems a shame not to make use them.
