ParticipantHi
Interesting to see no posts here… I joined up post-HamTrain to see if Essex has any Meshcore Elmers. I couldn’t join an Essex Meshtastic (see my callsign), but would love to reach you via Meshcore or JS8.

geekyParticipanthi all, im a new Mesh user live near noak bridge but work in billericay, coveriage appears to be great in the Noak Bridge / Laindon area, but falls off a clif going up the hill to billericay/chelmsford/wickford. @rsclark do you have active repeater’s up in the billericay area as i havent head them on the mesh as of yet.

rsclarkParticipantHi @geeky I am down near Inn on the Green and am testing a Seed P1 Solar repeater at home while I work out how to install it at Langham Hall in South Green.
There is a repeater near Aldi but it’s been Off for a couple of weeks.22 April 2026 at 09:47 #36437
geekyParticipant@rsclark
thank you for the reply, as your local, have you managed to connect to the mesh from home? i have had really good results in the laindon / noak bridge area, but zero connection to the wider mesh as soon as i go past billericay school. im curious what results you have had this far north of the 12722 April 2026 at 14:31 #36438
rsclarkParticipant@geeky I can only receive snippets at home while the Aldi repeater is down but am looking at adding more solar repeaters around the area if I can. I have a couple of SX1262 LoRa DX-LR30-900 boards but the manatees doesn’t have any firmware for the boards. They were going to be the heart of my new pipe repeaters.
When the P1 goes into langham hall it will give great south green coverage but doesn’t get over the hill into the high street :-(

geekyParticipantSounds like a solid plan, shame the tapography of the area adds so much extra challange to local coverage.

rsclarkParticipantAnd people think Essex is flat !!
Access to rooftops in Billericay High street to place a Solar repeater would be ideal but may never be fulfilled.22 April 2026 at 14:50 #36441
geekyParticipantdo you have any sort of paperwork of info that you would be willing to share? i may be able to talk to some people in the highstreet area. as im rather new to the mesh, and not a massive radio user im not personally sure what could be the best track to take in approching people.

rsclarkParticipantI think we should chat off the general forum about how & who to contact. Can you email me at hall@langhamhall.org.uk and we can see what we can arrange.
