Announcing the Foundation Mock Tests Book.
If you’re studying for the UK Foundation amateur radio exam, then testing your knowledge using up-to-date mock exams is a must.
From the authors of the popular Foundation Study Guide, this book contains 6 complete Foundation mock tests, structured in the same way as the actual Foundation exam. With over 150 tried-and-tested questions, this book will help you check just how ready you are for the exam, and it contains a short explanation for each answer to help identify any areas you may need to brush up on. The book also contains some exam tips and has a downloadable marking sheet.
Rather than simply being a book of random mock questions, these are six complete mock tests, structured in the same way as the actual Foundation exam questions. Each mock test includes 26 questions, laid out as follows:
- Licence Conditions: 6 questions
- Technical Aspects: 3 questions
- Transmitters and Receivers: 3 questions
- Feeders and Antennas: 3 questions
- Propagation: 2 questions
- EMC / Interference: 3 questions
- Operating Conditions: 3 questions
Essex Ham’s “HamTrain” team has been helping students to prepare for their UK Foundation exam since 2015, and to date we’ve helped over 14,000 students to get started in amateur radio, thanks to our unique Foundation Online course. The course offers a mix of syllabus content, course videos, a Foundation Study Guide, as well as a growing pool of mock exam questions, as used in this book.
The exam syllabus has changed several times in recent years, and it’s important to use mocks that have been updated for the current syllabus. Questions contained in this book are based on the v1.6b RSGB exam syllabus (for exams from April 2025 onwards).
