Looking to get your UK amateur radio Foundation licence? Consider online study with our free HamTrain Foundation courses. We’ve helped over 14,000 people.
For details of online courses for Foundation, Intermediate or Full, see our Online Course Providers page.
Many people prefer in-person training, and there are clubs across the UK offering training courses and exams. If you’re looking to take a course in-person, as opposed to online, the map below might help. Note that you can change the zoom level from the top left, and drag the map around, if you can’t see your area
This tool was created in 2026, as the official RSGB Course and Exam Finder has been down for several weeks, with no estimate for when it will return. Even when up, it was very out-of-date (see our video). Information was sourced from our 2026 Tutor Survey, so is hopefully up-to-date and useful. We’d love to hear your comments.

Hi I asked about training courses at the bishop Auckland club in crook they don’t do them individually
Hi Pete
Thanks very much for setting up this great resource. Could you please remove Foundation from our list of courses offered. We receive so little demand now there is so much online that we cannot generally offer foundation courses (except in special circumstances), but plan to run an intermediate later this year and another Full in due course once demand has built up.
Many thanks
