Saturday Night Lisa Net 17 Oct 2015

Handheld Microphone Thanks to an impressive number of people who popped up on an impromptu 2m net this evening, Saturday the 17th of October 2015.

Lisa M6KIS passed her Foundation exam a few days ago in Danbury, and I was honoured to be asked to be her first contact, firstly on 2m simplex, followed by a “short” experiment on GB3DA.

I first met Lisa at Galleywood, when she was accompanying Dean M6NSX at a field day, and subsequently at other radio events in Essex. She signed up at an SWL with Essex Ham, and with some gentle arm-twisting from Dean (and others!), Lisa took the plunge and signed up for Foundation, taking Essex Ham’s Foundation Online course for Internet revision, and the Foundation course itself with CARS.

Here’s Lisa, just after passing her exam, with some other Essex Ham candidates…

With her new callsign unused and one day old, we arranged a sked at 8:30pm and I got the number one slot in her log. We switched to DA for a test, and after 2 and a half hours, here’s what happened…
