Hi all, my name's Robert & i'm studying for my foundation licence. I'm a complete novice & will be taking the online course shortly. I have a handheld scanner which is great but a bit small. I have arthritis & need a larger base station scanner so that I can use the controls easier, just so I can get used to finding & storing frequencies etc. Can anyone suggest a fairly large base station scanner that won't break the bank & that I could trade in when I get my licence & go for a transceiver? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Rob.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm looking to do a bit of everything to start with just to get used to things.

if you are ok with using a computer keyboard & mouse , I would suggest using an SDR receiver like an AirSpy with SDR#(Sharp) controlling it.
SDR# has a memory manager that can act as a scanner.
