Antenna analyser , (2 replies and 1 comment)
Are you a member of CARS? They had 3 of the MFJ ones the last time I looked. Speak to Peter M0PSD - they were usually OK about lending them out.
No I’m not, have been on a few Essex ham field events and went to one cars meeting in Danbury, but never joined. I know there’s a few ham’s in South Woodham and was hoping I was going to get a response from one of them. I had looked at buying one myself but I have spent so much on radios and I’m on quite a low budget and can’t spare anymore cash at moment, just wanted to get on hf. I did try to put up a gr5 but garden not big enough to get the right angles hence why I have opted for a vertical
Not sure how long your garden is but I made one of these:

Works great on 80,40 and higher bands. Not so hot on 20m but there is a fix for that.

Has anyone got an antenna analyser I could borrow. Trying to build a hf vertical using 7m fishing pole and a 40m long wire with 9:1 balun. Thanks for any help.
