Hi,

I've been sitting on the peripheral of radio for the last few years due to workload and other commitments, and some may remember that I organised an event that was covered very well by Peter and Essexham a few years ago called SAW..

Now a few years have passed since that great weekend and I have been officially asked to resurrect another version of SAW for a new number of scouts in the Basildon area.

At the moment I am in the early planning stages of what to include and try and get the best possible experience and engagement for these kids, and run a lot of similar little events like last time. so I like to initially just put it out there that i'm on the look out for any help and assistance, some great people helped last time, but times change and people move on to new things.

for example:

W&S are no longer .. and they helped greatly with some loan equipment and some small funding for QSL cards.

So if anyone has any points of contact worth while reaching out to or would like to help out in either the planning, organizing or attending drop me a note and happy to discuss further.

Early dates in mind are Aug or Sept this year, possibly in conjunction with YOTA2018 dates..

Watch this space....

Cheers

HI - Excellent news, I'll be over the moon with you helping again (had to put the moon pun in the comment Dorothy ;-) (well done) maybe we can try moonbounce this time :-)

As discussed, very happy to support this. I've sounded out a couple of members already about helping. The 2014 event was excellent, so we great to be involved again.

Can I ask if anyone has contacts with UKHAB or know someone willing to demonstrate their balloon tracking skills - last time we did this with two HABs and everyone was so thrilled by it I still hear about it now, so it would be good to try and have some or one released again..  it was a great show of a interesting section of amateur radio..

I've reached out to Chris, who's our local HAB guru. Will let you know when I've heard back from him
